Holmes was ranked one of the top 25 prospects entering the draft according to some experts. He went undrafted and ended up joining the Boston Celtics Summer League team. In Las Vegas he had a few solid performances including a 15 point 7 rebound effort.
Holmes played 4 years at the University of Texas with his best season being his junior year. He averaged 13 points and 7 rebounds that and opted to return to Texas for his senior campaign.
It is unlikely that Holmes will make the Lakers opening day roster but that doesn’t mean he won’t find minutes at some point this season.
Last season 2-round pick Jordan Clarkson spent some time with the Los Angeles Defenders and ended up getting an opportunity and making the most of it.
