RECAP: Padres 13 Brewers 5
- Updated: August 3, 2015
It was a lucky number 13 for the San Diego padres as they beat the Milwaukee Brewers 13-5, at Miller Park in Wisconsin.
Yangervis Solarte was the man of the night tonight as he homered twice and put away four runs. MLB.com writes the following on the game:
“The Brewers took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the first inning, but the Padres answered with a trio of second-inning runs against Brewers starter Wily Peralta and never trailed again. Solarte hit a solo home run in the first inning and a three-run homer in San Diego’s sixth-run seventh to back starter Tyson Ross, who pitched six quality innings to win for the sixth time in his last seven decisions.”
What did the interim manager say of Solarte’s performance? Check it out below:
“It’s just beautiful,” said Padres interim manager Pat Murphy of Solarte. “I’m just really happy he’s come into his own.”
The Padres managed to score in each of the five first innings, that was until the Brewers Corey Knebel struck out the side in only 11 pitches!
Up next the two teams will take on each other tomorrow at 5:10 pm PST!
