The LA Galaxy finally got their first road win last night against the Colorado Rapids! Not only did they win, but the killed the Rapids 3-1.

Maybe the impressive performance from the MLS All-Stars gave the LA Galaxy some inspiration, or maybe just a needed break from play!

Either way, the LA Galaxy have overcome their on-the-road curse, and it was long overdue.

The Galaxy haven’t won on the road since last June and with the start of a new month, it seems fitting to turn over a new leaf.

The highly-coveted Steven Gerrard started in last night’s game, as did newly acquired Donovan Ricketts. Ricketts only allowed one goal into the net, and Stevie G showed how important his presence is in the midfield.

He spoke to the media after the game and explained how much it meant to the team. Check out his comments below:

Robbie Keane also had something to say as the team’s captain. He said:

“We obviously feel relief, really,” Keane told reporters in Commerce City, Colo. “I knew it was going to come. I wasn’t too worried about it. I said [during] the week I think it was important that away from home, the mentality has to change, and it certainly did tonight, in the way we played.

“When we went a goal down, you’re thinking the same old story again, but full credit to the players. We got ourselves in at halftime, we didn’t do too badly the first half … and then in the second half, we came out, and, to be fair, we were the much better team from the get-go. Once we got the first goal back, I think we were always going to go on and win it.”

Well done lads!
