Mike Trout Shines, Halos Beat Rangers 13-7

The Los Angeles Angels had a killer afternoon today as they sent the Rangers packing after a 13-7 win. And oh yeah, Mike Trout is still the man.
Andrew Heaney started for the Angels as the Rangers stepped up to bat. He pitched 6 innings allowing 6 hits and 2 runs. He struck out 4 and walked 1 as he picked up his 5th win of the season.
On the other hand Nick Martinez got the start. He pitched 5 innings allowing 6 hits and 4 rus. He struck out 5 and walked 3 and picked up his 6th loss of the year.
The offense got started in the 1st inning when Trout hit a solo blast to right field. This was his 30th of the year and put the Angels on top 1-0.
Rougned Odor answered back for the Rangers in the 3rd inning. He hit a RBI single to right that brought in Ryan Rua.
Tomas Telis was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the 4th inning that brought in Prince Fielder and gave the Rangers a 2-1 lead.
C.J. Cron hit a solo blast in the 4th inning to tie the score at 2-2. It was his 6th of the year. In the 5th inning Erick Aybar hit a sacrifice fly that brought in Kole Calhoun and the Angels lead 3-2.
The 6th inning would be where the Halos left their mark. Johnny Giavotella hit a RBI single to left that brought in Conor Gillaspie. Trout hit a grand slam that brought in Carlos Perez, Daniel Robertson, and Giavotella and just like that the Angels lead 8-2.
The Rangers attempted to make a comeback in the 7th inning. Mitch Moreland hit a RBI single to center that brought in Odor and Adrian Beltre.
The Angels answered back in the 7th inning when Roberston hit a RBI double to left that brought in Taylor Featherston and Perez and the Angels pushed the lead back to 11-4.
Offense continued for the Halos in the 8th. Aybar hit a RBI single and Featherson hit a RBI double that brought in Kyle Kubitza to give the Halos a 13-4 lead.
Odor hit a 2-run shot to right field that brought Leonys Martin. Elvis Andrus followed with a RBI to cut the deficit to 13-7.
The Halos will take on the Houston Astros on Tuesday 5:10 p.m. PST
