The Los Angeles Dodgers kicked off a four game series with the New York Mets with a 3-0 win.

Clayton Kershaw, (8-6), was simply spectacular in his performance, throwing a complete game shoutout, striking out 11, allowing only three hits and extending his scoreless-streak to 29 innings. Kershaw sat down the first 18 Mets batters, until a Curtis Granderson singled in the 7th inning, broke up his perfect game to that point.

Jimmy Rollins took Mets starter Bartolo Colon,(9-9), deep, in the top of the third inning for his 9th homer of the season. The Dodgers added two more runs in the top of the ninth, when Alberto Callaspo drew a bases loaded walk, that scored Joc Pederson and a sacrifice fly by Yasiel Puig, that scored Adrian Gonzalez, for the third and final run of the night.

The win keeps the Dodgers,(55-42), in first place in the National League West, three full games ahead of the second place San Francisco Giants. The Mets,(49-47), are still in second place in the National league East, three full games behind the Washington Nationals.

The second member of the Dodgers dynamic duel Zack Greinke, will miss his normal start in tomorrow’s game, to be with his wife and newborn, Congrats Zack! The team has announced that Ian Thomas,(0-1, 5.23 ERA), will make his first start of the season. New York will counter with Jonathon Niese, (5-8, 3.36 ERA), who will be trying to win their 33rd game of the season at home, which is the fourth best in the National League.
