The Los Angeles Clippers will continue their road this afternoon as they take on the Memphis Grizzlies in Memphis. While the Clippers are coming off an impressive win against the Heat, today’s game will be a tougher task.
The Grizzlies are currently on a 22 game home winning streak, and the Clippers will look to break that. On Friday night, the Grizz beat the Celtics behind some unlikely heroes. Jon Leuer scored 19 points off the bench in just 22 minutes. Marc Gasol scored a career high 32 points to lead them to a 117-100 victory over the Celtics.
Going into the road trip, the Clippers were struggling and playing very inconsistently. However, the road has been good to them as their shots have began to fall.
Blake Griffin had this to say to ESPN.com after the Heat victory:
“Especially (against the Heat), I thought we put it together for pretty much all four quarters,”Blake Griffin said after matching Chris Paul with a team-high 26 points. “At times, we got a little sloppy, but tonight we built upon what we did (Wednesday) night, and that’s promising. That’s what we need to do every night out.”
The question remains on if the Clippers will be the ones to end the Grizzlies home winning streak or not. We will find out tonight. It will be a battle between two of the best teams in the league, and a potential preview of a playoff matchup.
