We like to start our day searching the web and reading articles about our beloved LA sports teams. It’s easy to get lost in the depth of the inter web, but luckily for you we have compiled a list of the most interesting and pertinent news stories for your morning reading pleasure. For this edition, let’s dive into the news surrounding the Los Angeles Angels .

The Los Angeles Angels have made new hires:

“The Los Angeles Angels have hired Josh Hamilton’s former accountability partner to be the hitting coach for their top minor-league affiliate.

Johnny Narron was hired by the Angels on Wednesday to work for their Triple-A club in Salt Lake City.

Narron was the Milwaukee Brewers’ hitting coach for the past three seasons. Before that, Narron spent five years at the side of Hamilton, who overcame drug and alcohol addiction to become the 2010 AL MVP.

Narron worked with Hamilton in Cincinnati and Texas, watching both the slugger’s swing and his sobriety.

Hamilton has been largely unimpressive in the first two seasons of his five-year, $125 million deal with the Angels.”

Antonio Gates clarifies comments on Philip Rivers’ rib injury:

“The Angels will give up a player to be named later or cash considerations for the outfielder.  Robertson was drafted in the 33rd round of the 2008 draft by the San Diego Padres. The 28 year outfielder was traded from the Padres to the Rangers in April in order to help provide depth to a injury filled Rangers team.

He made his major league debut in April of this year, and played in 70 games. In his 70 games Dan Robertson posted a .271 batting average that included 9 doubles.

During his 3 years at the Triple-A level, Robertson’s batting average is .294, with a .371 OBP.

We are unsure how active the Angels will be this offseason, but this is the first move for the Angels.”
