Recap: Dodgers 4, Mets 3

On our nation’s day of independence the Los Angeles Dodgers managed to bounce back after a tough loss on Friday night. This match up featured two aces respectively in the National League.
New York Mets starter Matt Harvey (7-6, 3.11 ERA, 5.0 IP, 4 K’s, 3 ER) (L) faced Zacke Greinke (7-2, 1.48 ERA, 7.0 IP, 4 K’s, 4 Hits) (W) who made notable headlines. Greinke continued his scoreless innings pitched to his career high of 27 2/3 innings pitched. It should also be noted that he is leading the MLB in ERA with a (1.48) after pitching seven scoreless innings.
The offense for the Dodgers got rolling early on as Yasiel Puig scored after Jimmy Rollins grounded out. In the bottom of the second inning it was 1-0 Dodgers over Mets. The run support continued for Los Angeles in the bottom of the fifth.
Adrian Gonzalez hit his fifteenth home run of the year as the Dodgers took a 2-0 lead. Newly acquired third baseman Alberto Callaspo hit an RBI single as Yasmani Grandal scored giving Zack Greinke a three run cushion to work with. In the bottom of the seventh Callaspo reached base on an infield single to the short stop as Grandal scored to make it 4-0 Los Angeles.
The New York Mets managed to score two runs in the top of the eighth inning to get within two runs. In the ninth inning Ruben Tejada scored via sacrifice fly by Juan Lagares as this was the final runs scored in the game.
A 4-3 bounce back win and the series will be decided this afternoon at 1:10 PM PT. New York Mets starter Steven Matz (1-0, 2.35 ERA) will face Mike Bolsinger (4-2, 2.76 ERA) in the series finale.
