USA Today reported earlier today that the Lakers superstar, Kobe Bryant, will be apart of the LaMarcus Aldridge.
It’s safe to say that the Lakers are pulling out all of the stops to attract Aldridge, and Mitch Kupchak is no stranger when releasing the Black Mamba. Kupchak has spoken in the past about using Kobe whenever he sees fit, and without caution. As Lakers Nation puts it, LaMarcus Aldridge is one of the top players available as of now, and landing him would instantly propel the Lakers to be a contender in the West.
There was talk this past season about Kobe and the negative effect he had on landing free agents. Cite the Dwight Coward, I mean Dwight Howard , incident here. For many players, however, the chance to play with Bryant is something that is a big draw.
It seems as though the Lakers are placing a whole lotta hope on bringing Aldridge to LA. And if not LaMarcus the hope is that a big name will take the court with Kobe. This one is far from being played out and we will have to wait in see what, if anything, will transpire from tonight’s meeting.
