According to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.com the Anaheim Ducks have traded Kyle Palmieri to the New Jersey Devils in exchange for a second round pick in the 2015 NHL draft and a third round pick in the 2016 draft.

Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reported a potential reason why the Ducks parted ways with Palmieri.

With free agency around the corner the Ducks may be freeing up cap space to go after a goal scorer this summer Stephens reported.

Stephens also reported that Palmeri was actually on a vacation when the deal got done last night but would be tracked down in the morning and made aware of the news.

Palmeri was a first round pick of the Ducks back in the 2009 NHL draft. He has spent his entire career with the Ducks before being traded. Below are his career statistics.
