The Los Angeles Dodgers continued their 10 day road trip in Chicago to take on the Cubs on Tuesday night. After a Kris Bryant show last night the Dodgers hoped to rebound and pick up a win in the Windy City.
For the Dodgers Zack Greinke got the start. He pitched 6 innings allowing 3 hits and 0 runs. He struck out 5 and walked 2 as he picked up the no decision.
On the other side Jason Hammel got the start for the Cubs. He pitched 7.2 innings allowing 2 hits and 0 runs. He struck out 6 and walked 2 as he picked up the no decision as well.
It was a pitchers duel in Chicago as neither team was able to push any runs across until the 10th inning.
Joel Peralta came on in the 10th for Yimi Garcia and gave up a single to Mike Baxter. Matt Szczur followed with an infield single and Dexter Fowler walked to get the bases loaded.
That was all for Peralta who was then replaced by Kenley Jansen. Jansen was able to get record an out when Addison Russell grounded into a fielder’s choice.
Chris Denorfia hit a pinch-hit sacrifice fly and the Cubs beat the Dodgers 1-0 in the 10th inning. The Dodgers and Cubs will continue their series tomorrow night at 5:05 p.m. PST. Kyle Hendricks and Mike Bolsinger are expected to start for both sides.
