AFC West Standings Week 11: San Diego Chargers 6-4

Each week CaliSports News will present the updated list of the AFC West standings. Going into Week 12 of the NFL the San Diego Chargers have fallen in the table and are still sitting at the number three spot in the AFC West bracket! See it below:
In Week 11 the San Diego Chargers beat the Oakland Raiders in their first game back after having a week off due to a bye week.

Here is an excerpt from CaliSports News recap of last weeks game against Oakland:
“On Sunday, the San Diego Chargers hosted the winless Oakland Raiders for what could be considered a must win for the bolts especially considering their current desperation mode to get back into the playoff picture following a stretch of recent losses.
Like it or not, this match-up would be a defensive battle between AFC West foes as this one would come right down to the end. In fact, the Raiders, at one point, would have 8 straight punts on offense with 5 of the 9 being a three-and-out.
With the Chargers up 13-6 with just 1 minute left in the game, the Raiders had to try to make their way down the field with no timeouts and score a touchdown. “
Each week CaliSports News elects the SuperCharger MVP of the game, here is an excerpt from this weeks choice:
“Chargers’ quarterback, Philip Rivers, had an alright game completing 22 of 34 passes for 193 yards and 1 touchdown. Rivers had an average completion of only 5.7 yards though as the Chargers offense would struggle to get big plays throughout the day.
Chargers’ running back, Ryan Mathews, had a decent game on the ground having 16 carries for 70 rushing yards and a 4.4 run per attempt. Matthews had one nice run of 20 yards as well but Matthews was non-existent in the passing game having only 1 reception for 5 yards.
On the receiving end of things, the Chargers’ top two receivers in Keenan Allen and Malcolm Floyd put up their usual numbers. Allen had 8 catches on 13 targets for 63 yards. Floyd only had 4 receptions for 44 yards but did have the lone touchdown reception of the day for both teams after making a nice 22-yard catch over a defender in the end zone.
On the Chargers’ defense, there were multiple players who contributed to helping the Chargers stay in the game with the Raiders. In fact, if it was possible, I would choose the entire Chargers’ defense as being the SuperCharger MVP of the week but we will stay consistent with the past and pick one specific player.”

The San Diego Chargers play the St. Louis Rams on Sunday, November 23 at Qualcomm Stadium. The game will be televised at 1:05 PM on FOX.
