Recap: Dodgers 10, Giants 2 – Finally

Justin Turner is unreal man. Before Turner signed with the Dodgers he had a total WAR of 0.6, with the Dodgers he has a total WAR of 6.8 and is easily one of the best hitters in the majors over that time.

Entering the game the Los Angeles Dodgers had lost 5 straight to the San Francisco Giants and were looking at being swept for the second time this season against the Giants, but Turner helped get the Dodgers on the scoreboard first with a walk, getting to third on an Adrian Gonzalez double and then scoring on a wild pitch by Tim Lincecum who looked like the Tim Lincecum of 2014, and that is okay.

Timmy got through the first inning by only giving up a run and it wasn’t until the second inning that the wheels fell off for him and gave up 4 quick runs and got lifted by his worst start of his career and I was happy, na na na na, na na na na, hey ey ey, gooood byyyye.

Yasiel Puig looks great at the top of the line up and that 1-2-3-4 of Yasiel Puig, Joc Pederson, Justin Turner and Adrian Gonzalez went 8-15, scored 6 runs and drove in 7 of the 10 RBI’s. I think this will stick for a while.

Yasmani Grandal keeps reminding us of why the Dodgers traded for him, hitting two dingers, and collecting a bunt single when the Giants shifted against him in the bottom of the second, which was fun.

Jimmy Rollins went 3-4 and is now 5 for 8 since a friend of mine wrote that maybe the Dodgers should look at other options at short and Erisbel Arruebarrena got his suspension reduced back to 30 days and reported back to extended spring training in Arizona.

Adrian Gonzalez seems to have found his bat, 3-4 and hit a no doubter against Yusmeiro Petit in the 4th inning.

All in all the Dodgers hit 4 home runs, 2 by Grandal, 1 by Gonzalez and 1 by Turner.

Brett Anderson went 6 easy innings, gave up 1 run and got his 3rd win of the year, he’s been great lately and worth every penny.

Daniel Coulombe went two innings, gave up a run and struck out two, still kind of struggling but he’s only up until Paco Rodriguez is ready.

Matt West (right, who?) pitched an inning, striking out two including the final out of the game.

This win kept the Dodgers 1.5 games over the Giants for first place in the NL West, and sets them up nicely for the 10 game road trip that they will be going into starting with four games against the young and fun Cubs in Chicago, with Clayton Kershaw, Zack Greinke, Mike Bolsinger, and Carlos Frias pitching for the Dodgers in those games.

It’s always good to get a win against the Giants, see y’all in Chicago.
