In the second game of the weekend series between the NL. West rivals, this one goes to the San Diego Padres, 2-1.

The Padres sent Ian Kennedy (3-5), to the hill to face Zack Greinke (5-2), who suffered his second loss of the season. The scoring was minimal, the Padres got on the board first on a dribbler that came off the bat of Padres Right fielder Matt Kemp, up the third base line. When Greinke tried to field the ball, he made an error on the throw to first base, allowing Will Venable to score from third base. Los Angeles scored their lone-run on a Yasmani Grandal homer off of Kennedy, on a 3-1 pitch that cleared the wall in right field, that was his 7th of the season. The Padres scored the games final run, on a Justin Upton homer, his 13th of the season in the bottom of the eight inning, to clinch the win for the Padres and ended the Dodgers 5 game winning streak. Padres closer Craig Kimbrel, came on in the top of the ninth inning, to earn his 16th save of the season.

The final game of the series wraps up this afternoon at Petco Park down in San Diego. The Dodgers will send Mike Bolsinger (4-1, 2.08 ERA) to the mound, to get Los Angeles back in the win column. San Diego will start their ace of the staff James Shields (7-0, 3.79 ERA). Los Angeles (36-26), despite the loss, remains 2.5 games ahead of the second place San Francisco Giants.
