We like to start our day searching the web and reading articles about our beloved LA sports teams. It’s easy to get lost in the depth of the inter web, but luckily for you we have compiled a list of the most interesting and pertinent news stories for your morning reading pleasure. For this edition, let’s dive into the news surrounding the LA Galaxy.

Here is an excerpt from the recap of the LA Galaxy game against Real Salt Lake:

“I figured going into the match that the Galaxy might have some issues against Real Salt Lake—only because of the history between the two teams and RSL’s prowess—but RSL has been having some issues as well. The New England Revolution and the Montreal Impact dealt them two major losses—4-1 and 4-0, respectively—and they’ve only won four out of thirteen matches. If the playoffs started today, RSL would be left out.

For the majority of this second game, RSL possessed the ball more than the Galaxy, but their shooting stats were almost the same. The Galaxy shot twelve total with three on target, seven off target, and two of them blocked, while RSL had ten total with only one on target, six off target, and three blocked. Luckily, it only takes one goal to win a game.”

The LA Galaxy sold every ticket for their match against Barcelona FC. Read about it here in an excerpt from their website:

“Tickets for the match at the Rose Bowl Stadium, which seats 92,542, went on sale to the general public May 14 and sold out in less than two weeks.

“We are thrilled to see the immediate response of fans in Los Angeles for our match against FC Barcelona this summer,” LA Galaxy President Chris Klein said. “This is a marquee event that will showcase some of the world’s most talented players and we are looking forward to a great atmosphere at such a historic venue.”

FC Barcelona, who play in Spain’s top division Liga BBVA, were founded in 1899 and are the most successful club in Spanish football history and one of the most successful clubs in the world. During their history, the team has recorded over 60 domestic titles, including 22 LA Liga titles, as well as four UEFA Champions League titles and a record two FIFA Club World Cup trophies.”
