NBA Pacific Division Standings – Week Two

Each week CaliSports News will present the updated list of the NBA Pacific Division standings. Going into Week 3 of the NBA the Los Angeles Clippers have moved up in the standings but the Lakers are sitting at the bottom of the division. See it below:
This week the Los Angeles Lakers got their first win of the season, here is an excerpt from the recap:
“The Los Angeles Lakers (1-5) beat the Charlotte Hornets (3-4) 107-92 tonight for their first win of the season. The Lakers were coming off of a loss to the Phoenix Suns. Click here to read the recap of that game.
Jeremy Lin had his best game as a Laker tonight. He was extremely aggressive and it paid dividends for his squad. He finished the night with 21 points and 7 assists, as he nailed three, three pointers.
Carlos Boozer also played well for the Lakeshow. He chipped in 16 points and grabbed 5 rebounds, as Byron Scott earned his first win as the Lakers coach. Kobe Bryant scored 21 points, and Ed Davis continued his strong play as well. Ed Davis went 5-5 from the field in his 22 minutes off the bench.”

It was an interesting week for the Los Angeles Lakers, as the team was not only granted player disability but also leave of absence for Wayne Ellington following the murder of his father.
CaliSports News elects a Showtime MVP for each week of the NBA:
“The Lakers’ second and final game of week two came against the Memphis Grizzlieswhich would be a game that would come down right to the end but, ultimately, the Lakers would fall 107-102. Kobe would be aggressive in this one as he would come away with 28 points on 10-26 shooting. Kobe would also be 3-10 from the 3-point line.
As a result, Kobe would break the record for the most missed shots in NBA history. Kobe and the rest of the Laker team would downplay the significance of this (as they should).
Boozer would have another solid game having 20 points and 8 rebounds. Actually, the whole Lakers’ starting five would play pretty well in this one as all of them would break into the double digits in scoring.
Lakers’ center, Jordan Hill, would kill the boards having 14 for the game to go along with 13 points.
In the end, it just came down to defense as the Lakers would let the Grizzlies shoot 52.6% from the field.”
