Hector Santiago Pitches 7 Strong Innings, Angels Win 3-2

Hector Santiago pitched 7 strong innings and the Los Angeles Angels beat the Toronto Blue Jays 3-2. The Angels used runs in the 7th and 8th inning to come from behind and beat the Jays.
Santiago went 7 strong innings for the Halos. He allowed 4 hits and 2 runs, only 1 was earned. Santiago stuck out 5 and walked 3 as he picked up his 3rd win of the year.
On the other side Aaron Sanchez got the start for the Blue Jays. He pitched 7.1 innings allowing 6 hits and 3 runs. He also struck out 5 and walked 3 in the outing. Tonight’s loss was his 4th of the season.
The Jays got on the board early when Josh Donaldson hit a solo shot was his 9th of the season and gave them a 1-0 lead.
In the 4th inning Kole Calhoun answered with a solo shot of his own. This was his 4th of the year tying the game at 1-1.
Donaldson was at it again in the 5th inning. He hit a sacrifice fly to center that brought in Kevin Pillar giving the Jays a 2-1 lead.
The back and forth game continued into the 7th inning. Chris Iannetta hit a RBI single that brought in Calhoun.
In the 8th inning the Halos scored the final run of the game. David Freese hit a sacrifice fly to center that brought in Erick Aybar.
Joe Smith pitched a clean 8th inning. Huston Street picked up his 13th save of the season.
The Angels and Blue Jays will continue their series tomorrow night at 4:07 p.m. PST
