Los Angeles Lakers Lose To New Orleans Pelicans 109-102

The Los Angeles Lakers lost last night as they played the New Orleans Pelicans 109-102.
Last night’s game was the second of a back to back and it showed in the Lakers efforts on defense. The Lakers lost two nights ago to Memphis. Click here to read the recap.
The Lakers have had a rough start to the season, they are now 1-7 and are still without players they expected to have for the season.
Ronnie Price was ejected from the game in the second half, after committing a flagrant-2 foul on Austin Rivers, when his forearm caught Rivers across the face as he drove to the basket.
As expected, Kobe Bryant had another big scoring night. He had 33 points on 10-of-28 shooting.
Ed Davis had yet another strong game. He scored 8 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for the Lakers.
Good news came today after Coach Byron Scott announced that Nick Young could return from his torn-ligament injury as early next week. All 5 Lakers starters reached double figures tonight as well.
For the Pelicans, they were firing on all cylinders. Anthony Davis had a huge game.He scored 26 points, blocked 6 shots, and grabbed 12 rebounds. The young big man is making a case at MVP award early in the year.
Tyreke Evans had double-double of his own. He scored 19 points and dished out 11 assists. Jrue Holiday and Ryan Anderson scored 17 points each as well. The Pelicans had a field day on the Lakers defense. They shot an outstanding 55% from the field as a team.
Lakers head coach Byron Scott had this to say about the Lakers lack of defense.
“They got pretty much whatever they wanted in the paint,” head coach Byron Scott said. “There was no resistance whatsoever. It was just terrible. That was probably the worst defense we played (from) preseason all the way to this particular point.”
Up next for the Lakers is the defending champion San Antonio Spurs. On Friday night, the Lakers will battle the Spurs in the Staples Center at 7 p.m. The game will televised on ESPN.
