Hollywood Blvd. News – Los Angeles Clippers Edition

We like to start our day searching the web for our beloved LA sports teams. Let’s dive into the news surrounding the Los Angeles Clippers.

The Los Angeles Times explains why, regardless of their playoff run, the Clippers are still the Clippers:

“The new owner stood underneath the basket with arms folded and jaw tight while his players trudged past without looking at him.

Steve Ballmer and his billions didn’t matter.

The famous coach followed his team off the court with eyes glazed and head shaking, his swagger having long become a stagger.

Doc Rivers and his championship pedigree didn’t matter.

After undergoing a radical transformation, Los Angeles’ reborn professional basketball team added to its sordid history Sunday, struck down by a 31-year curse disguised on this day as the Houston Rockets.

The Clippers are still the Clippers.”

USA Today thinks the Clippers future looks foggy following yesterday’s loss:

“There were eight men in the huddle outside the Los Angeles Clippers’ locker room, all of them wearing suits or street clothes and none of them looking pleased.

But only one was doing all the talking.

Doc Rivers, the Clippers coach and top front-office executive whose team had just suffered a case of asphyxia in the Western Conference Semifinals that won’t be soon forgotten, was speaking with endless exasperation and surely trying to explain how this could all come to pass.

Steve Ballmer, the former Microsoft CEO who paid a record $2 billion to buy this team last August and was so hell-bent on bringing them all better days, listened intently inside their huddle with a blank look upon his face.”

I completely agree actually. They’re the only team left that won’t break my heart if they win.
