The Arizona Diamondbacks crushed the San Diego Padres in Phoenix tonight 11-0. The Padres were unable to put any runs on the board as they recorded just 3 hits tonight.

Odrisamer Despaigne got the start for the Padres and he had a night that he’ll want to forget. He pitched 5 innings allowing 10 hits and 8 runs while striking out 1. He picked up his first loss of the season.

On the other side Rubby De La Rosa had the complete opposite of a start. He pitched 7 strong innings allowing 3 hits and 0 runs. He walked 2 batters on his way to his 3rd win of the year.

The Dbacks got started early in the game. They pushed 4 across in the first inning that was started by a Mark Trumbo solo shot to left. For Trumbo it was his 4th blast of the year and the Dbacks took the early 1-0 lead.

David Peralta scored after a pass ball. Chris Owings hit a RBI single to left that brought in Yasmany Tomas. Tuffy Gosewisch added an RBI double and the Dbacks ended the first inning up 4-0.

Paul Goldschmidt hit a solo shot in the 3rd inning. It was his 8th of the season. Gosewisch added a RBI double in the inning and the Dback continued to take control of the game.

The Dbacks pushed 2 more runs across in both the 5th and 6th innings and added 1 more for good measure in the 8th to take care of the Padres 11-0.

The Padres will try to bounce back tomorrow night in Arizona at 6:40 p.m. PST.
