The Los Angeles Galaxy travel to Utah today to take on one of the fiercest rivals in the MLS, the team that is Real Salt Lake. Both teams have met three times, in the past four years in the MLS Cup Playoffs. This is not a game to be taken lightly!

After 387 minutes of goalless play, the Real finally got a goal on the scoreboard. Ok, so it was an own goal, but hey! who’s looking? This marked the Real’s first goal since April 5.

As for the LA Galaxy, they continued their unbeaten streak to four games with their second consecutive tie against the Rapids.

The LA Galaxy’s central defender, Omar Gonzalez, said to the media, “It’s never easy when you play Salt Lake.”

Bruce Arena also sounded off about the Galaxy’s current positioning, as reported by the team’s official website:

“We haven’t lost a game in a month, and we’re talking about a funeral here? We’re doing OK, that’s all I can say. Maybe we’ll start losing a lot of games and we can say we really have some issues.”

Arena then says the team needs to be patient as they deal with injuries and inconsistencies within the team.

“The season’s young,” he said. “The greatest team in the world in MLS is the New York Red Bulls; they haven’t won in three games. They have two points in three games. We have five points in three games.

“The point is this stuff is changing all around. Columbus last week was great, this week they lost. This is the nature of our league, and it starts to become more obvious where the teams are in August and September, not now.

And to silence the criticisms about the LA Galaxy’s form? He said this:

“Form does matter, but results do as well. You can get an argument if you told me Chelsea’s form is no good. I would say you’re pretty stupid. That’s the argument right now that Chelsea doesn’t play attractive soccer. They’re lifting trophies.”

Let’s get this win LA Galaxy!!
