The San Diego Chargers selected Denzel Perryman in the second round of the NFL draft on Friday night. After selecting Melvin Gordon in the first round for the backfield they turned to the defensive side of the ball.
Perryman a linebacker out of the University of Miami could be just what the Chargers need as a inside linebacker. Eric Williams of ESPN.com described Perryman via Twitter.

He lead Miami in tackles last year with 114, and was also a All-ACC selection. At 5’11, 236 pounder so there are concerns with size. Experts also have questions about his pass coverage and speed but he was able to do more than enough in college and his game translates to the NFL level.
Perryman was excited to be drafted by the Chargers. He went to Twitter to express his excitement.
