Shaquille O’Neal Will Get Statue Outside Of Staples

According to Arash Markazi of ESPN Los Angeles the Los Angeles Lakers will unveil a statue of Shaquille O’Neal outside of Staples Center during the 2016-2017 season.

The Lakers announce that Shaquille O’Neal will be honored with a statue outside of Staples Center next season.

Ramona Shelburne of ESPN.com also reported the news.

Lakers President and co-owner Jeanie Buss confirms the statue for Shaquille O’Neal will be unveiled during the 2016-17 season.

O’Neal had spent eight seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers winning three titles with the club. O’Neal won three Finals MVP’s as well as a league MVP as Laker.

Shaq will get a statue alongside some of the other great Laker player: Magic Johnson, Jerry West, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and broadcaster Chick Hearn.

Kobe Bryant will get a statue one day as he is in his final year of career. For Laker fans everywhere it will a special day to see Shaq’s statue.
