Rockets Use Big Third Quarter To Beat Lakers 112-95

The Houston Rockets used a big third quarter to beat the Los Angeles Lakers 112-95 on Sunday night. For the Lakers it marks their third loss in a row.

Lou Williams led the way with 20 points for Los Angeles. Jordan Clarkson added 16 points, and Julius Randle chipped in with a double-double, 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Kobe Bryant had a quiet night with 5 points and 9 assists. Bryant passed Jerry West on the all-time assist list to put him second all-time on the Lakers career assist list only behind Magic Johnson.

D’Angelo Russell and Anthony Brown reach double figures off the bench with 12 points and 1o points respectively.

For Houston James Harden led the way with 31 points. Dwight Howard recorded a double-double with 14 points and 15 rebound in 26 minutes.

Clint Capela also had a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Trevor Ariza reached double figures with 13 points. Ty Lawson, Marcus Thornton and Montrezl Harrell all reached double figures off the bench as well.

Houston controlled the glass, out rebounding the Lakers 51-36 last night. They also outscored the Lakers 34-18 in the third quarter and the Lakers were never able to recover.

Up next for Los Angeles is the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday night at the Staples Center.
