Philip Rivers Breaks Records, Chargers Lose 27-20

The San Diego Chargers traveled to historic Lambeau Field over the weekend to take on the Green Bay Packers and head home with a 27-20 loss.

Philip Rivers set franchise records in completions, attempts, and passing yards but it went in vein as the Packers held on to win the game.

It was the Packers who got on the board first with when Aaron Rodgers hit James Stark on a 5 yard touchdown pass.This gave the Pack an early 7-0 lead.

The Chargers responded with a 14 play 62 yard drive that ended with a 36 yard field goal by Josh Lambo.  This cut the lead to 7-3. With just under 2 minutes left in the first quarter James Starks took a 65 yard run to the house and the Packers ended the first quarter up 14-3.

Mason Crosby put a 23 yard field goal through the uprights and pushed the Packers lead to 17-3 to start the second quarter off. Rivers answered back connecting with Dontrelle Inman as time expired and the Chargers trailed 17-10 at halftime.

Rivers teamed up with Ladarius Green for his second touchdown of the game that tied the score at 17-17. Rodgers answered with a touchdown pass of his own to end the 3rd quarter connecting with James Jones. The Chargers went into the 4th down 24-17.

Lambo hit another field goal, this time from 32 yards out to cut the lead to 24-20. Crosby also hit a field goal in the 4th 28 yards out and the Chargers were unable to make the comeback.

With the loss the Chargers fall to 2-4. They will take on the Oakland Raiders at home on Sunday.
