The Los Angeles Lakers were not able to beat the Houston Rockets on the road tonight. The game ended 99-97. They have now lost eight games straight, making it the longest losing streak since 2005.

The Lakers struggled throughout and only showed sparks of competitiveness in the fourth quarter when Tarik Black checked in.

Carlos Boozer led the team in scoring 18 points. On the other hand, James Harden scored 37 points and 8 rebounds.

Nick Young was only in the game for nine minutes and was benched for the second half. Jordan Clarkson had eight points  and went 2-for-10 and racked up five turnovers, while Jeremy Lin had 14 points and six assists off the bench after sitting all game on Friday.

In regards to Kobe Bryant’s injury evaluation, Byron Scott said this after the game to ESPN.com:

“I think we all hold out hope that it goes well, (and) they say he doesn’t need surgery or anything like that,” Scott said. “Maybe rehabilitation for a few weeks or a month or whatever the case may be. But that’s the positive part of me hoping that happens.”

In a bizarre moment, Coach Scott showed up late to Staples Center after forgetting that Sunday games are an hour earlier than every other night. The 53-year-old coach claimed he “had a senior moment.”

Up next the Lakers will host the Washington Wizards.
