Los Angeles Lakers Can’t Hold Off New Orleans; L 96-80
- Updated: January 21, 2015
The Los Angeles Lakers were unable to hold off the New Orleans Pelicans as they lost 96-80.
Kobe Bryant returned tonight after missing two games straight. He scored 14 points and went 6/14 on shooting. For the Lakers, Jordan Hill had a strong game bringing home 15 points while Wayne Ellington had 12. They shot only 37%.
The Pelicans had Anthony Davis back tonight as he scored 29 points.
Lakers struggled when Byron Scott took Kobe off the court and on the bench. When he checked out, they were only down by three. When the star was ready to check in with five minutes left in the game, they were down by 12.
Bryant seems to have a new injury to deal with. He spent his time on the bench icing his right shoulder and it looked as though it was bothering him in the game. He is scheduled to have an MRI tomorrow to check it out.
The Lakers led the game by as many as nine in the first half when Swaggy P hit a layup after being fouled by Omer Asik, which put the game at 42-33.
Up next the Lakers have San Antonio Spurs on Friday.
