Lakers Beat Hornets For First Win Of The Year

The Los Angeles Lakers (1-5) beat the Charlotte Hornets (3-4) 107-92 tonight for their first win of the season. The Lakers were coming off of a loss to the Phoenix Suns. Click here to read the recap of that game.
Jeremy Lin had his best game as a Laker tonight. He was extremely aggressive and it paid dividends for his squad. He finished the night with 21 points and 7 assists, as he nailed three, three pointers.
Carlos Boozer also played well for the Lakeshow. He chipped in 16 points and grabbed 5 rebounds, as Byron Scott earned his first win as the Lakers coach. Kobe Bryant scored 21 points, and Ed Davis continued his strong play as well. Ed Davis went 5-5 from the field in his 22 minutes off the bench.
For the Hornets Al Jefferson scored 23 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Lance Stephenson on the other hand struggled from the field. He shot just 3-12 from the floor, but he did grab 10 rebounds.
The Lakers outscored the Hornets 34-13 in the third quarter that helped the Lakers take control of the game. The Lakers had excellent ball movement tonight as they ended up with 28 assists, the most they have had so far this season.
The Lakers hope to keep up the momentum as they travel to Memphis to take on the Grizzlies on Tuesday night.
