LA Kings Win Season Finale 4-1
- Updated: April 11, 2015
The Los Angeles Kings beat their rival San Jose Sharks in the season finale 4-1 today. We all know the Kings season did not end the way we wanted with not making the playoffs but is always nice to beat your rivals.
The Sharks got on the board first when Brent Burns scored a slap shot goal in the first two minutes of the game. His goal was assisted by Joe Pavelski and Joe Thornton and the Sharks led after the first period 1-0.
In the second period it was Tyler Toffoli who scored a wrist shot goal to tie the game. Jarret Stoll and Andy Andreoff were credited with the assist. That was the only goal of the second period and the two rivals headed into the final period tied at 1-1.
In the final period of the season it was all Kings. Brayden McNabb scored a slap shot goal that was assisted by Drew Doughty and Jeff Carter. His goal gave the Kings a 2-1 advantage. Marian Gaborik scored a wrist shot goal that was assisted by Jake Muzzin and Justin Williams to put the LA Kings up 3-1.
In the final minutes of the game Andy Andreoff scored and empty net shot that was assisted by Toffoli and the Kings won by a score of 4-1.
Jonathan Quick made 20 saves tonight, while Alex Stalock made 32 for the Sharks.
For the Kings their season ends today but it’s a pleasure covering them and we’re looking forward to the offseason coverage!
