Mitchell has been battling for an opportunity in the MLS for a few years now. He attended CSU Dominguez in college and upon completion of his college career, he seeked opportunities in the professional ranks.
He was on the Chivas USA reserves squad as well as some USL teams before the short-handed Galaxy gave him a call.
The Galaxy made the signing after news broke that Brian Perk was going to miss the entire 2015 season due to an ankle injury. With Perk out the Galaxy lacked depth in the goal keeper category and had to make a quick signing before their game last night.
Mitchell will look to make the most of his opportunity. Welcome to the team Trey Mitchell!
