The Los Angeles Kings were able to snap their three game losing streak as they put the Oilers to bed. The game ended 5-2 in LA’s favor.

The always reliable Jeff Carter scored tonight, as well as Matt Greene, and Kyle Clifford. Anne Kopitar and Trevor Lewis tied with both a goal and two assists. As for the Oilers, Luke Gazdic and Teddy Purcell got on the board to make up their two goals.

The Kings scored in the ninth minute of the first period which was also their tenth shot of the game. The first goal came from Matt Greene and by the last-minute of the first, the Kings had upped it to 2-0.

After goal three, the Kings made it 4-1 with just three minutes left in the second period after a bad rebound led to scrambling in front of Scrivens and resulted in a goal by Clifford.

The Kings went up by four goals 26 seconds into the third as a Kopitar shot deflected off defender Justin Schultz and in for his first goal in seven games.

The Oilers cut the lead to 5-2 on the power play five minutes into the third on a chip-shot goal from Purcell.

The goalies were pretty even tonight. Jonathan Quick had 21 saves while Ben Scrivens made 24.
