Los Angeles Kings Beat The Tampa Bay Lightning In Florida 4-2

The Los Angeles Kings went on an early first period rampage tonight. They beat the Tampa Bay Lightning 4-2. Tonight marked the Lightning’s first loss at home since losing to Washington on Dec. 9.

Justin Williams scored two goals tonight and the Kings were able to break Tampa Bay Lightning’s franchise-record 10-game home winning streak. Tyler Toffoli and Drew Doughty also put up goals for the Kings.

Toffoli took the puck in Tampa’s zone and initiated the scoring 1:33 into the game. Justin Williams then made it 2-0 with 12:30 left in the first.

FoxSports.com reports the following on the game:

“Bishop was replaced by Andrei Vasilevskiy after allowing three goals on nine shots in the first period.

After Hedman pulled Tampa Bay within 3-2 by beating Jonathan Quick from the low left circle 1:34 into the third, Williams put Los Angeles back up by two from the right circle at 7:46.

Kucherov cut the Lightning deficit to 3-1 just 58 seconds into the second.

Quick stopped a good scoring chance by Steven Stamkos with 5 minutes left in the first. Kucherov hit the post two minutes later.”

As for Tampa Bay, they managed to get two goals from Nikita Kucherov and Victor Hedman.
