The Memphis Grizzlies are one of the hottest teams in the NBA and their hot streak continued as they beat the Lakers 99-93 last night. The Lakers were coming off a loss to the Nuggets on Sunday. Click here to read the recap.

Marc Gasol scored 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for the Grizz. Mike Conley also added 19 and Zach Randolph scored 16 as the Grizzlies won their 7th out of 8 games.

Former Ohio State guard Mike Conley told ESPN.com this about the win:

“It says a lot about our focus early this season,” Conley said. “That’s all we want to do, is to come out focused for the first couple of months of the season, set a good standard for ourselves, and have to just hold ourselves accountable and try to get better.”

For the Lakers the loss dropped the Lakers to just 1-7 at home. So far this season they have lost multiple games by 7 or less points. Kobe Bryant had this to say about the loss.

It’s just as frustrating no matter how many times we lost by seven points or less,” Bryant said. “I mean, it’s not like we have levels of frustration. It’s either all or nothing. We’ve had some opportunities against some of the top teams in the West to win, and we just let it get away from us.”

Kobe Bryant scored 22 points in the loss. Jeremy Lin scored 14 points and dished out 5 assists, and Ronnie Price scored 11 points off the bench. The Lakers biggest problem was that they struggled finishing in the lane. They shot better from behind the arch then they did from inside.

With the off day today the Lakers will try to regroup as they take on the Timberwolves on Friday at the Staples Center.
