Ducks Shutout Vancouver 4-0

The Anaheim Ducks shutout the Vancouver Canucks on Monday night 4-0. Last night’s win ended a two game losing streak for the club.
Shawn Horcoff got the Ducks on board in the first period. He scored his fourth goal of the season that was assisted by Andrew Cogliano and Carl Hagelin.
Rickard Rakell scored a tip-in shot at the end of the period to push the lead to 2-0. For Rakell it was his 6th goal of the season and was assisted by Ryan Getzlaf and Sami Vatanen. After the first period the Ducks held a 2-0 lead and outshot their opponent 14-8.
The second period saw no goals but Anaheim outshot Vancouver again 9-8. In the third period Jakob Silfverberg scored a slap shot goal that was assisted by Nick Ritchie and Ryan Kesler. For Silfverberg it was his second goal of the year.
Corey Perry put the icing on the cake with a slap shot goal a few minutes to push the lead to 4-0. It was Perry’s eighth goal of the year.
John Gibson was excellent for the Ducks recording shutout. He made 25 saves. On the other side Ryan Miller made 25 saves as well but on 29 shots.
Jacob Markstrom came on and made one save as well.
Anaheim will take on the Tampa Bay Lightning on Wednesday night at home.
