Austin Rivers Career Night Lifts Clippers Over Kings 126-99

The Los Angeles Clippers cruised by the Sacramento Kings tonight 126-99. The Clippers were coming off a big win against the San Antonio Spurs and needed to remain focused in this sort of trap game.

Austin Rivers who had missed last game due to an ankle injury played his best game as a Clipper tonight. The former Duke Blue Devil scored a career high 28 points including 5 three pointers.

Jamal Crawford added 23 points off the bench to go along with 6 assists. Every single player on the Clippers roster scored tonight.

DeAndre Jordan continued his strong play with 11 points and 15 rebounds in just 20 minutes of play. Chris Paul had 10 points and 9 assists. J.J. Redick had a big game as he scored 24 points including 4 three pointers.

On the other side Omri Casspi lead the way for the Kings. He scored 11 points and grabbed 17 rebounds for the Kings. All-Star DeMarcus Cousins lead the scoring for the Kings with 21 points. Rudy Gay chipped in 15 points.

Tonight’s game was a story of runs. In the second quarter the Clippers got going and did not let up. They outscored the Kings 42-18 in the second and 31-18 in the third.

While the Kings shot just 4-16 from deep, the Clippers connected on 14-35 three pointers good for 40%. As the Clippers were knocking down shots they were also racking up the assists. They totaled 31 assists compared to the Kings 18.

The Clippers were able to cruise to victory which makes it their fourth in a row. Next up they have a showdown with the Memphis Grizzlies at home on Monday night.
